Council tracks and reports on our operational greenhouse gas emissions. The monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions is the basis for the development of climate policy and action. The monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gases is and will be even more vital for a continued understanding of local and regional greenhouse gas emission trends.

The largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions from Council operations are sewage treatment, fuel and gas.

As part of Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting framework, the General Manager reports to Council on the progress of meeting objectives as detailed in the Delivery Program. Budget progress reporting and adjustments are made quarterly to Council through the Finance Committee.

An End of Term Report on the progress in implementing the Community Strategic Plan, Wingecarribee 2031+ is also produced at the end of each Council term.
