Our Flags

The following flags are flown at the Council Civic Centre Building in Moss Vale on Kirkham Street:

  • Australian National Flag
  • Aboriginal Flag
  • Torres Strait Islander Flag
  • Wingecarribee Shire Council Flag

The Flags are flown in accordance with the protocols set by the Department of Premier and Cabinet in the Australian Flag Booklet. For more detailed information on the procedures for flying and handling flags, please refer to the Flying and handling | Australian Flags booklet | PM&C.

The Flags are raised and lowered each business day.

Flag at Half-Mast

The Flags are flown at half-mast on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day each year.

The Department of Premier and Cabinet may also request the Council to fly the flag at half-mast in the following instances:

  • The passing of a prominent Australian figure
  • A state funeral or memorial service
  • Observance of international days, such as United Nations Day

When the Australian National Flag is flown alongside other flags, all flags in the display should also be flown at half-mast.
