Works for this project are expected to commence from early Feb 2025 and last for 24 weeks. The works will include:
The Wombeyan Caves Road Bullio Creek Causeway Upgrade connects to properties 3102 Wombeyan Caves Road at the Northern end and 3123 Wombeyan Caves Road at the Southern end.
During the February and March 2022 flooding events, the runoff from the creek caused significant damage to the causeway, downstream creek profile, and road pavement. Installing box culverts, headwalls, fencing, bank stabilisations, and pavement reconstruction works, will enable the creek runoff to be discharged efficiently.
The renewal of the causeway and associated works are part of the Council's Capital Projects under the 2024/25 program, and Council's commitment to addressing the aftermath of environmental events and ensuring the longevity and resilience of local infrastructure.
Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to be aware of heavy machinery and workers in the area, follow the changed traffic conditions, and exercise care when travelling through the work zone. The section of road will be fully closed, and traffic should divert through the temporary sidetrack following the traffic devices installed at the work zone.
Access to emergency services will be maintained during construction. The Traffic Management Plan will be approved by Council. The construction works will be undertaken ensuring minimal disruption and inconvenience to road users and neighbouring properties.
