TREE MAINTENANCE REQUESTS FOR COUNCL MANAGED TREES

For all requests for Council owned trees, residents can submit a query to our Customer Request System

A qualified and experienced Council Arborist will determine the level of risk and what type of works are required, in line with industry accepted methodologies and standards.

Council will categorise maintenance interventions, to facilitate decision-making and allow for the best prioritisation of resources in the following order:

  1. Risk to public safety, property, and other infrastructure.

  2. Establishing and maintaining healthy and structurally sound trees; and

  3. Maintaining habitat for wildlife

TREE PLANTING REQUESTS ON COUNCIL LAND

If you would like a street tree to be planted outside your property, please complete the online form.  Tree Planting Request Form

You may only request a street tree for a location directly outside your property.

Once Council has received a request, Council’s tree and vegetation management officer will determine if the site is suitable.  As part of this assessment process, Council will consider the above and below ground infrastructure and any future upgrades to the road or footpath environment.

Recommended tree species are provided within Council’s Urban Tree Management Strategy, if a different species is sought this can be discussed with the officer.  Property owners who request a street tree must be agreeable to watering the new tree for an establishment period, minimum of 6 months.

Residents can donate suitable trees to be planted by Council, on Council managed land.

If you would like to ask us a question or report an issue, please submit your query via our Customer Request System. If you are reporting something that requires urgent attention, please contact us on 02 4868 0888.
