Entries for the annual Southern Highlands Eucalyptus Photo Competition are now open! Wingecarribee Shire Council invites residents of all ages to capture the majestic beauty of eucalyptus trees and explore the natural wonders of the Southern Highlands through their lenses.

Eucalyptus trees are a defining feature of the local landscape and offer endless inspiration with their diverse shapes, textures, and colours. In celebration of National Eucalypt Day, the initiative aims to foster a deep appreciation for natural heritage and promote responsible enjoyment of our beautiful bushland reserves.

The competition is open to Wingecarribee Shire residents of all ages, with submissions accepted until 20 March 2025. Participants can enter one of three categories: Primary School, Secondary School, and Open.

Winners will be announced on National Eucalypt Day (23 March) at the Earth Hour Community Planting Day at Jordans Crossing, Bundanoon. Exciting prizes are up for grabs! The Open Category winner will receive a eucalyptus tree, while High School and Primary School winners will each receive a voucher for a local nursery.

Don't miss this gum-believable opportunity to showcase your photography skills and celebrate the beauty of the Southern Highlands. Please remember when visiting our Shire’s beautiful bushland reserves and national parks to leave only footprints, take only photographs!
