Community Invited to International Women’s Day Breakfast 2025

Wingecarribee Shire Council invites residents to celebrate International Women's Day 2025 at its breakfast event on Friday 7 March, from 7.30am to 9.30am, at Park Proxi, Bowral.
Enjoy a delicious hot breakfast and be inspired by keynote speakers, Sarah Mangelsdorf and Sarah Steele, as they share their stories and insights.
Sarah Mangelsdorf is the General Manager of Pop In, a local non-profit supporting families impacted by domestic violence, family and sexual abuse. Sarah is also involved with The Youth Impact Foundation, building a local wellbeing collective and sharing the science of wellbeing to schools in the region. With a 25-year career spanning education and community service across the globe, Sarah brings a wealth of experience and a passion for connection, compassion, and courage.
Sarah Steele is a Registered Nurse with a background in Emergency Nursing, currently on secondment as a Nurse Unit Manager in Nursing Education for Justice Health. Beyond her professional roles, Sarah is a dedicated mother of four, a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor, and a passionate advocate for women and girls in sport. She serves as a coach, manager, and Chair of the Women and Girls in Sport Committee, as well as Vice President of the Bundanoon Rebels Football Club.
This year’s MC is Shelley Jones, Director of Corporate Strategy and Resourcing at Wingecarribee Shire Council. Shelley is respected local government leader with nearly 20 years of experience and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She has a strong track record of driving change in rural and regional councils, including navigating complex mergers, leading through crises, and building strong community connections.
Dress For Success: Attendees are encouraged to bring an item of professional clothing to donate to Dress For Success, a charity that empowers women to achieve economic independence through employment opportunities. There is also the option to make a direct donation when booking your ticket.
