The Plan of Management, currently on public exhibition for 42 days, can be viewed here, Participate Wingecarribee. Residents have until Tuesday 2 July 2024 to have their say and provide feedback via the online survey form.
This Plan of Management (POM) provides the overarching framework for the use and management of our bushland reserves for the next 10 years, with a review period at least every five years.
Community land categorised as Natural Area (Bushland and Watercourse) is incredibly important for flora and fauna conservation, biodiversity and passive recreation. The POM will guide detailed annual work plans for Bushcare and Rivercare activities, coordinated by our Bushland Services team, with input from dedicated volunteers who work to restore our natural areas.
The Public Hearing is being held to discuss the land identified for categorisation as Bushland and/or Watercourse. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn what land is to be categorised and how this selection process was completed. It is also an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the plan and provide valuable input.
Your participation is crucial in shaping the future of our natural areas, ensuring they are managed and preserved effectively for the benefit of the community and the environment. Don't miss this chance to make a difference and stay informed about important local initiatives.
