Mobile Community Recycling Centre: January to July 2025 Schedule

Wingecarribee Shire Council is pleased to share the Mobile Community Recycling Centre’s (MCRC) new collection schedule for the period of January to July 2025.

The MCRC brings recycling to various suburbs across the Shire, providing residents with an accessible and convenient way to dispose of problem waste materials.

The following household waste items can be dropped off for FREE with a limit of 20L or 20kg per customer, per drop off (no booking required):

  • Fire extinguishers

  • Gas bottles (propane)

  • Car batteries

  • Household Batteries

  • Motor and other oils

  • Fluro light globes and tubes

  • Water and oil based paints

  • Aerosols

  • Mobile phones

  • Polystyrene

  • Cardboard

  • Smoke detectors

  • Soft Plastics

The Wingecarribee community generates over 30,000 tonnes of waste materials each year. Every effort to correctly dispose of and divert waste from landfill contributes to a healthier environment and a more sustainable future.

Key recycling tips

  • Never dispose of batteries in your kerbside waste. Batteries contain harmful chemicals and are highly combustible, posing a significant fire risk to rubbish collection trucks.
  • Help reduce plastic pollution by collecting plastic bags, wrappers, and other soft plastics for recycling.
  • Protect the Shire from environmental harm and contamination by bringing your Fluorescent Globes, which contain mercury, and motor oils for safe disposal

Together, we can contribute to a cleaner, greener Wingecarribee. Find out more about the MCRC.
