Old South Road Restoration work update – Preliminary investigations into damage

Wingecarribee Shire Council is aware of the difficulty that the deterioration of Old South Road between Merrigang Street to Range Road is currently posing to our community.

Council is working closely with our design consultant, geotechnical engineers and Stefanutti Constructions to investigate the cause of the pavement failure and to commence with the appropriate remediations as soon as practicably possible.

Stage 3 works are progressing on track for the reconstruction of 1.3km of Old South Road north of Aylmerton Road in Mittagong. Two significant culverts have been reconstructed and road works are well progressed with widening, shoulder construction and sub-soil drainage. This stage is scheduled to be completed by late May, weather permitting.
