Old South Road Stage One Repair Works Completed and Reopened to Traffic
Wingecarribee Shire Council is pleased to announce Stage 1 of the Old South Road upgrade project between Range Road and Merrigang Street is now re-opened for commuters, following the completion of stabilisation and sealing works, in exactly three weeks as planned.
Line marking will be finalised in approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Maximum speed limit during this time is 40 km/h.
Stage 3 works on Old South Road are again ramping up following a run of recent wet weather, along with the remobilisation of resources relating to the Stage 1 rectification works. Work also continues on the sub base, stabilisation and sub soil drainage, which are nearing completion for the 1.3km stretch of road north of Aylmerton Road.
Next, the focus will then shift to establishing the base course pavement and final seal following the Easter long weekend, with the installation of guard railing, line marking and signage. The project is expected to be complete by the end of May 2024, weather permitting.
Commuters are thanked for their understanding, while these important road upgrades take place.
