Wingecarribee Shire Council Welcomes New Director of Corporate Strategy and Resourcing

This week, Wingecarribee Shire Council welcomed Ms. Shelley Jones as the new Director of Corporate Strategy and Resourcing, starting on 5 August 2024.

As Director, Ms Jones will apply her extensive experience in corporate strategy, finance, and human resources to advance the Council's strategic initiatives. Her previous roles at Snowy Valleys and Edward River Councils have prepared her well for regional challenges. She is particularly passionate about organisational strategy, employee engagement, and leading positive change.

With nearly two decades of local government experience, a Bachelor of Business, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Ms Jones has a strong record of driving strategic transformations. She has successfully implemented major organisational redesigns to align strategy, resources, and outcomes.

As an executive leader in amalgamated councils, Ms Jones has navigated complex mergers and led through crises, including the 2019-2020 Black Summer bushfires. She is committed to collaborating with the Wingecarribee Shire Council team to positively impact the community.

Ms Jones’ appointment was announced at the Extraordinary Meeting of Council on 29 May 2024 by the General Manager, following consultation with the Council's Administrator, Mr. Viv May.
