The Bundanoon Folk Festival is set to return this November, from Friday 22 to Sunday 24, bringing a vibrant celebration of folk music, arts, and performance to the community. For the second consecutive year, the festival is supported by Wingecarribee Shire Council's Community Assistance Scheme, which has provided a grant to transform local venues into festive spaces.

This year's funding of $1,800 will help create a bright and welcoming atmosphere for attendees, enhancing the overall festival experience.

The grant has funded the highly talented local artist Ingrid Skirka to prepare stage decorations for the Bundanoon Soldiers’ Memorial Hall, The Boobook venue. Attendees can expect to step into a world of wonder with large owls and starry skies to set the scene.

Councils support also provided necessary resources for festival organisers to host community workshops to involve residents in the preparations. Bundanoon Folk Festival Public Officer/Secretary Winsome Hall said, “The Bundanoon community has many amateur and skilled artists and crafters. The venue workshops provide a wide opportunity to put their skills to work and an opportunity to share them. Seeing their work contribute to a larger project is very special”.

Bundanoon Folk Festival Director Anthony Woolcott said, "We look forward to strong audiences seeing our line-up of brilliant artists”.

“We know that last year, the festival and the village was loved by visitors - it is a special and friendly village that seems to have adopted this little festival and taken it to its heart. Don’t miss it if you can!”

The Bundanoon Folk Festival is organised by a committed group of folk musicians with support of many organisations and individuals in and around Bundanoon.

Wingecarribee Shire Council Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick said that the Bundanoon Folk Festival was a great example of how the Community Assistance Scheme encourages participation and community partnerships.

“Our passionate community members are the heart and soul of our Shire. By providing grants to local organisations and initiatives, we're empowering our residents to create positive change and strengthen the bonds that make Wingecarribee such a special place.”
