Harbison to join Tulip Time Bulb Planting

Preparations for this year’s Tulip Time celebrations are set to gather pace with the official bulb planting at Bowral’s Corbett Gardens on Friday 20 May 2022.
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s General Manager Lisa Miscamble said more than 75,000 bulbs would be planted in Corbett Gardens as part of this year’s celebrations.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Tulip Time bigger and better than ever before following the past two years of COVID disruptions,” she said.
“Staff have been busy preparing a new program of activities and together with our Charity Partner, Tulip Time Ambassador and supporters, we’re confident this year’s 61st anniversary celebrations will be one of the best yet.”
The 2022 festivities will include Tulips After Dark in Corbett Gardens on the Friday and Saturday evenings featuring live music and a bar serving local wines. Other activities include the installation of a children’s soft-play area.
Tulips After Dark was made possible with the assistance of $74,595 in funding secured from the NSW Government’s Regional Events Acceleration Fund.
“The addition of Tulips After Dark will showcase the iconic gardens after dusk and help promote the Shire’s fabulous produce and talented musicians,” Ms Miscamble said.
“It will also provide a shot in the arm for the local economy in the wake of fires, floods and the pandemic.”
Harbison will also join this year’s bulb planting and springtime celebrations as the official 2022 Tulip Time Charity Partner.
“Both Tulip Time and Harbison share more than 60 years of history in the Southern Highlands,” Ms Miscamble added. “And many of the residents, staff and families have strong links to this festival.”
Harbison CEO David Cochran said the organisation looked forward to this year’s floral festival.
“We’re delighted to have been selected as this year’s Charity Partner and we look forward to celebrating Tulip Time and the arrival of spring with our community.”
