Help make our Shire more inclusive and accessible
Published on 13 December 2021
Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting residents to take part in an online survey to help develop our next Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP).
Council’s Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing, Ms Carmel Foster, explained the purpose of the document.
“A DIAP tells people what Council will do to make life easier for people living with disability.”
“The plan outlines the steps that Council, in conjunction with our broader community, will implement to make sure residents and visitors with disability have greater access to services, facilities, events and information.
“It also provides recommendations and clear goals in achieving these outcomes.
“Whether you are a person living with disability, a person with caring responsibilities, a service provider or an interested community member, we want to hear from you,” she said.
Information provided through the survey will be used to develop the plan in line with the key priorities: attitudes and behaviours, liveable communities, employment, systems and processes.
The online survey is available at yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/disability-inclusion-action-plan until 4 February 2022.
To request a hard copy, or for assistance in completing the survey contact Council’s Ageing and Disability Officer on phone 4868 0888 or email mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au.
