Wingecarribee Shire Council is pleased to announce the successful recipients of its 2024/25 Community Assistance Scheme. This year’s program has awarded a total of $88,907 to 25 local organisations, supporting a range of initiatives that enhance the lives of our community members.

The scheme aims to build local capacity, encourage community participation, and foster collaboration in maintaining our valuable community assets.

Grant recipients will use the funds to deliver diverse programs including arts and cultural events, sports and recreation activities, and environmental sustainability projects.

Successful applicants were formally recognised at a presentation on Thursday, 22 August 2024.

Local community organisation and band, The Southern Highlands Pipes and Drums, were successful in receiving a $7000 grant to support their expansion. President Karen Tabram thanked Council for their support.

“This money will go a long way towards ensuring that the band is able to continue its growth with many new members, as well as being able to continue to give back to the community,” Karen said.

“We look forward to being able to purchase some much-needed new equipment and uniforms so we can continue to provide the local towns and villages with the best quality performances that our band has become renowned for.

“As always, we are proud to be your local Pipe Band and look forward to working together with the local community as we grow together towards a very bright looking future," she said.

Together we are achieving great outcomes with our community. For a complete list of grant and donation recipients, and further information on grant opportunities, please visit www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/Places/Participate/Grants-and-Funding-Opportunities
