The historic Bundanoon Railway Station officially reopened to the public on Saturday 26 October, following a major restoration project. Thanks to the NSW Government's Community Heritage Program and the collaborative efforts of Wingecarribee Council and local community groups, this iconic landmark has been revitalised, preserving its rich history for future generations.

The restoration works focused on retaining the site’s authenticity. The signal box, parcel room, and ticket office have been retained as they were once used, offering a fascinating glimpse into the lives of those who worked and travelled by train.

New signage and history panels have also been installed throughout the station precinct, bringing the stories of local employees and the local communities’ relationship to the station to life. This will provide visitors with an opportunity to engage with the site’s historic role in the community and the broader railway network.

The Bundanoon Railway Station Restoration Project is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the importance of preserving our heritage.

The site will be available for open days, events, exhibitions, and local gatherings. We invite the community to explore the restored station and learn more about its history.
