Council's Sustainable Efforts Reduce Landfill Waste

We are thrilled to announce that renovations at the Moss Vale Civic Centre have resulted in a significant environmental win. Through a partnership with Green Furniture Hub, we were able to divert an impressive 57 tonnes of office furniture from landfill. 

By utilising Green Furniture Hub's services, we were able to: 

• Recycle or upcycle 81% of materials, including particleboard timber that will be repurposed in Polytech kitchens. 

• Recycle 34.32 tonnes of mixed metal. 

• Offset 16.90 tonnes of CO2 through reuse and recycling efforts. 

Remarkably, only 13.76 tonnes of furniture needed to be disposed of due to being non-recyclable material. 

This achievement is a testament to our commitment to reducing waste and conserving resources. As a Council, we are dedicated to environmental sustainability, and this project demonstrates our ongoing efforts to create a greener future for our community.
