Eridge Park Road Elevated Footpath Nears Completion, Enhancing Community Connectivity

As part of Wingecarribee Shire Council's ongoing commitment to enhancing pedestrian access, the Eridge Park Road elevated footpath is nearing completion.

Ned Tripkovic, Wingecarribee Shire Council's Manager of Project Delivery, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. "The Eridge Park Road elevated walkway, connecting Eridge Park and Old South Road, is set to significantly improve pedestrian access in the area. Construction, currently being handled by Basco Projects, is expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting," he said.

The new footpath will extend from near Charlotte Street, at the back of Chevalier College, and will connect pedestrians to Old South Road. From there, pedestrians can cross over to East Bowral using the refuge crossing. He highlighted the accessibility of the new walkway: "As with all newly built and upgraded footpaths in our Shire, this one is wheelchair accessible, ensuring that people of all abilities can use it."

The project has been funded by both the Council and the NSW State Government's Get NSW Active program. Tripkovic noted the importance of this funding: "The Get NSW Active program provides local councils with essential funding for projects that promote safe, easy, and enjoyable walking and bike riding access. The support from the state government has been invaluable in bringing this project to fruition."

As the Eridge Park Road elevated footpath nears completion, residents can look forward to a safer and more accessible route that enhances connectivity within the community.
