Together with local State Members and Mayors in the Hume Police district the Administrator attended a medals and awards ceremony in Goulburn Tuesday 23 July.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for the local Superintendent Linda Bradbury to recognise Police under her management.

Recognising the ongoing contribution police make to maintain community safety is very important.  I am proud to have the opportunity to formally present local, organisational and National awards to our police, for acts of bravery and long periods of ethical and diligent service.  The presence of our community leaders at our awards ceremony shows their support for what we do, and it is greatly appreciated.”

Mr May said it was an eye-opening experience when long service was not only recognised but awards given when Officers have put community before self in dealing with self-harm, investigating domestic violence and attending major motor incidents. “All too often we take the great work that Police do for granted and it was also an opportunity for Officers to be recognised in front of their family and friends who often give up so much for their service to the community.”
