Northern & Southern Villages Emergency Management & Resilience Meeting

Community members were invited to take part in Emergency Management and Resilience meetings for our Northern and Southern Villages, facilitated by Council.

The purpose of these sessions was to help our community members understand how the Wingecarribee Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) is working together with the State Emergency Service (SES), NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), Local Land Services, and Council, to plan for our Shire’s disaster preparedness and emergency management.

Representatives from each of these agencies provided a specialised presentation, as well as the NSW Reconstruction Authority and Australian Red Cross.

Team members from Council provided an update on the progress of the 2021 Bushfire Response and Recovery Review recommendations as well as its own readiness projects
