Resilience is "our community’s capacity to manage the risks of natural hazards, prepare effectively, respond and recover meaningfully from disasters, and adapt to future challenges." - NSW Reconstruction Authority.
The Wingecarribee Shire has faced numerous disaster declarations over the past five years, including the Black Summer bushfires, the COVID-19 pandemic, and several severe storms and flood events.
To support our community’s journey toward resilience, we focus on community-centred approaches and capacity building, providing tools, information, and resources designed to empower residents to prepare for and recover from disasters.
If you have questions, feedback, or would like to discuss how we can help strengthen resilience in your community, please email community.development@wsc.nsw.gov.au or call 02 4868 0888.
