Reading Friends Australia (RFA) is a local registered charity that focuses on improving reading skills in children and young adults.
RFA provides local schools with trained volunteers who assist children with reading practice during school hours.
RFA donates books to disadvantaged children responding to requests from schools, charities, and community associations. The majority of our books are preloved but in great condition. They are checked and curated by our volunteers before distribution.
RFA reaches out to small regional communities to hold regular story time sessions for preschoolers and parents, to instil a love of reading and encourage parents and carers to read with and to their children at home.
RFA is a 100% volunteer-run organisation.
RFA is registered for Volunteer Work with Centrelink.
