The NSW State Government is currently in the process of upgrading the Moss Vale Station and Stabling Yard. The project aims to achieve Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (DSAPT) compliance and to accommodate the new Regional Rail Fleet.

The upgrades will allow for better accessibility to those with a disability, limited mobility, parents/carers with prams and passengers with luggage, while ensuring the station precinct aligns with Moss Vale’s transport needs.

Construction is will begin in July 2024.

Public input was sought during the design process, which was crucial in determining the best possible design outcome for the community. As a result, a “Kiss and Ride” zone and the inclusion of a noise barrier on Lackey Road were incorporated into the design.

The main areas for improvement include:

  • Station access from both the eastern and western sides of the station
  • Parking layout
  • Station Building, amenities and platforms
  • Stabling Yard to accommodate the new Regional Rail fleet

In July works will include:

  • closure of the footbridge and ramp between Argyle Street and the station
  • temporary hoarding at the station forecourt, courtyard and ticket office
  • excavating work for new lift installation at the Argyle Street entrance
  • vegetation removal and upgrade to the retaining wall on the station side of Lackey Road
  • MTS work will continue near Dalys Way commuter car park
  • deliveries and services to the temporary stabling yard will begin and site compound 3 will be set up on Lackey Road, opposite Parkes Road
  • There will be traffic impacts on Lackey Road between Parkes Road and Argyle Street
  • One-way traffic will be in place on a in a section of Lackey Road while vegetation removal and retaining wall work is ongoing for approximately 10 weeks
  • Traffic controls will be in place in the southbound lane during standard construction hours Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and 8am to 1pm Saturdays
  • a traffic alert was issued Friday 7 June 2024 for this road closure and updated on Live Traffic for commuters
