Where to dispose;
Fridges, freezers and air conditioners can be brought to the Resource Recovery Centre to be recycled, for a fee. This is due to the need for them to be degassed. This is important as refrigerant is a very harmful greenhouse gas when it is released into the atmosphere.
Other white goods, such as washing machines, dryers and dishwashers can be brought to the Resource Recovery Centre free of charge. White goods are recycled through metal recycling programs, where they are shredded to recover the metal.
