Where to dispose;
Paint cans can be dropped off free of charge (maximum 20L container per day or containers equivalent to 20L’s) at the CRC, which is located at the Resource Recovery Centre.
The items are then collected by Tox Free, Cleanaway as part of an EPA approved program.
If Paint Back is quoted at the weigh bridge, 100L of paint can be dropped off per day. To assist with volumes, please mix water-based paints and/or oil-based paints together, to fill paint tins up. This reduces the number of half full cans being stored prior to collection.
Paints collected by Tox Free are mixed with other waste solvents and used as an alternative to fuel in cement kilns. The metal containers are recycled separately.
Empty paint cans must also be dropped off free of charge at the CRC, NOT the metal recycling area, to ensure proper processing.
