Waxed Cardboard

Where to dispose;

Cardboard that has a light wax coating, such as milk cartons, juice cartons and ice-cream containers, can be put in the council provided recycling bin (yellow lid).

All comingled recycling collected from the kerbside collection system is sent to Suez recycling facilities where it goes through a range of automated processes for screening, decontamination, sorting and baling for material streams. Follow this link for more information.

Thick waxed cardboard boxes, such as those that fruit and vegetable grocers use, should be put in the council provided general waste bin (red lid). Thick waxed cardboard is difficult to separate from cardboard and can cause issues when recycling.
