Where to dispose;
Unwanted white goods that are still in working order can be donated to local charities or Reviva. Be sure to double check that the organisation can accept your item.
Broken or end of life white goods, can be dropped off at the Resource Recovery Centre. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners can be brought to the Resource Recovery Centre to be recycled, for a fee. This is due to the need for them to be degassed. This is important as refrigerant is a very harmful greenhouse gas when it is released into the atmosphere.
Other white goods, such as washing machines, dryers and dishwashers can be brought to the Resource Recovery Centre free of charge. White goods are collected by metal recycling programs, where they will be shredded to recover metal.
