Textile and Accessories Recycling

Textile recycling bins at the Resource Recovery Centre

Dispose of your unwanted textiles for free at the Resource Recovery Centre's clothing and accessory bins.

Drop off unwanted or unusable textiles including shirts, pants, dresses, and jackets as well as shoes and accessories including sneakers, sandals, boots, belts, hats, and scarves.

You can drop off any clean and dry textiles, even if they are worn out or damaged.

SCR Group Australia will collect your unwanted items to be reused, repurposed, and re-homed in the communities that need them the most, with 100 per cent of those items diverted from landfill.

What items are accepted at the clothing and accessory bins?

Op shops

Unwanted fabric that is in good condition and is not damaged/dirty can also be donated to local charities and op shops for reuse (be sure to check with charity first).

Local businesses

Local mechanics often appreciate old fabric, towels, bedding, and other textiles as rags. Reach out to nearby businesses and have a conversation about how your textile waste can be repurposed.
