Wingecarribee Shire Council will be celebrating NAIDOC Week with 3 events at the Civic Centre on Monday 8 July 2024.

10:30 am - Flag raising Ceremony

11:30 am - Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud exhibition opening
12:00 pm - Family Event - lunch and activities

Flag Raising Ceremony

Location: Outside Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale 2577
Time: 10:30 am

Join us for a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony

The morning will commence outside the Civic Centre including a;

  • Welcome to Country
  • Smoking Ceremony
  • Raising of the Aboriginal Flag.
Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud Atriumexhibition opening

Location: Atrium, Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale 2577.
Time: 11:30 am

All are then invited inside the Civic Centre to attend the official opening of the Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud exhibition to explore art and design by local contemporary First Nations artists in The Atrium gallery space. 

Naidoc Family Event

Location: Theatrette - Civic Centre, 68 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale 2577
Time: 12:00 pm

Young Gundungurra artist Isabella, who will display her artwork in the For Our Elders exhibition

Our family event will be held in our Theatrette and will include:

  • BBQ lunch
  • Children and young people's cultural activities
  • Face painting
  • Lots more
