Water Treatment Plant Tour
Next date: Thursday, 07 November 2024 | 10:00 AM
to 11:30 AM
Want to know where your water comes from? Why can't we drink water directly from the Wingecarribee dam? Come along to find out the answers to these questions and more.
Water usage is often not considered in our everyday life, but water conscious behaviour is a learnt behaviour, and more importantly a behaviour that we need to be better at. Water efficiency is largely about improved water usage behaviours and improved efficiency of fixtures and fittings to reduce water losses through leaks and drips.
We are moving towards some periods of drought, the last drought likely feels like a distant memory, especially after the floods we have experienced recently. Changes in water usage behaviour is even more important for us, when looking ahead. The importance of educating our community about water sources and the energy requirements of the treatment processes cannot be overstated. By raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices, we can ensure the long-term availability of clean and safe water for future generations.
