Wingecarribee Shire is set to dazzle this festive season with a spectacular array of illuminations, events, and activities to bring the community together in celebration. We have lots of wonderful activities for all ages across the Shire this festive season.
Find out below some of the many local activities you can enjoy.
The Mayoral Giving Tree
From Monday 2 December until Friday 20 December we will be accepting donations to the Mayoral Giving Tree at the Civic Centre in Moss Vale.
Donate gifts for families and individuals facing financial hardship this festive season. All items donated will be passed onto the local branch of the Salvation Army to be distributed to local individuals and families this Christmas.
We request that all gifts donated are new and left unwrapped under the tree.
The Christmas Giving Tree can be found in the foyer of Council’s Civic Centre until Friday 20 December 2024.
The Civic Centre is located at 68 Elizabeth Street in Moss Vale.
Opening hours are 8.30 am to 4.30 pm weekdays.
Santa's Grotto
Bring the family to meet Santa at the annual Christmas Grotto located at the Senior Citizens' Hall at Corbett Garden. Supported by the C3 Destiny Church, the Grotto will be open from Tuesday 17 December until Tuesday 24 December. Don't forget to get a FREE photo with him while you're there.
Family Fun Day
Date: Saturday 21 December
Time: 10.00 am – 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm
Includes: Face painting, Kids Christmas crafts, sausage sizzle and more!
Carols in the Park
Date: Saturday 21 December
Time: 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
Details: Join the Highlands Theatre Group choir in a joyous sing-along of classic Christmas songs.
Christmas Eve Fun
Date: Tuesday 24 December
Time: 10.00 am - 2.00 pm
Includes: Last chance for photos with Santa
Christmas Eve Carols
Date: Tuesday 24 December
Time: 6.00 pm - 9.00 pm
Includes: Groove the night away with an ABBA Christmas and Elvis’ Blue Christmas.
Pop-up Carols
The air will be filled with festive song around the Shire this festive season with pop-up carol performances.

Decorating the Towns and Villages
Corbett Plaza, Bowral
Corbett Plaza in Bowral will be dressed the part, with beautiful Christmas Tree, decorative lights and illuminated planter boxes.
Mittagong and Moss Vale
Mittagong’s Main Road median will be decorated with fairy lights and a Christmas Tree at the Southern Highlands Welcome Centre. Moss Vale will also exude seasonal cheer with festive lights in Leighton Gardens and a centrally located Christmas Tree.
In the Villages
The Christmas cheer will also be felt in the Shires villages with village associations receiving funds as part of the Christmas Grants Scheme to use in their communities to celebrate the season.
